Default 13x8 diamond racing spuns Vs. 1998 CX brakes.. clearance?

ok so i used to rock lensos. awesome wheel

but im stepping it up to MT 24.5x8x13's and when i mocked them up i have about a 1/4" clearance between the tire and knuckle.

so i called up diamond and ordered some 13x8 4.5" backspacing Spun wheels. they do offer a FWD hub for caliper clearance but i didnt elect for that to try and keep weight down on the wheel. the wheels are not here yet so i cant measure for myself.

after all these are 13.5lb and the old lensos are 10lb, so i dont want to pack on much weight.

anyways to my question.

i am concerned that the wheel spokes/center hub will hit my caliper.

is anyone rocking the diamond 13" mini stock spuns on a EJ6/Civic CX knucles/rotors/calipers?

if so did u need spacers? if so how wide

if not, did they clear the caliper without issue? if no, how much did u need to trim the caliper and is it still "safe" (yes i know thats a relative term but if its down to 1/16th of steel obviously thats not going to fly...)

i would really like to know what obstacles may stand in my way and any work arounds to get to the track as soon as possible once these wheels arrive.

i really really miss racing and i cant wait to try these 24.5's. they are ****ing HUGE compared to my old 23" MH's....

All the Diamond racing wheels Ive used, I've needed a 1/4" spacer to clear the fronts. But this was with DA brakes

So if you have to run a spacer anyways with the new wheel, what was the purpose of changing wheels?

ideally i hope i will not have to use a spacer. i might also just use 88-91 brakes. im 99% sure they clear the wheel

if i wanted to use the lensos i would need to space them out about 20mm, which means i will need extended studs, AND spacers. those together, with some new wheel bearings will cost MORE than some diamonds.

plus with the diamonds i can DIY bead lock them without fear of drilling/screwing a cast wheel

wil i love the lensos. and im not selling them. they will be used for a different project

thank you sir. that gives me good hope that the civic calipers will clear.

i might even chop up a dead rotor and use it as a spacer. damn im ghetto...

You don't "half" to use a spacer... you can shave the brake caliber down some as I did on my car... I just painted the caliper with cheap spray paint bolted the wheel up and spun it, take it off and wherever it rubs the paint off grind away... easiest and cheapest way and wont hurt the function of either... if you need pics I can get some for ya

Mine was also with integra brakes so you may not have a prob... even though I done think it had anything to do with how big around it was as it being how far the caliper sticks out
