This customer had seen some of my work online and looked me up. He just purchased the car and said it had only been washed twice since he'd gotten it! There was just a little over 9k miles on the odometer! This is my kind of guy, haha! So, obviously there were some dealer defects and some minor hard water etching on the roof, trunk and spoiler but overall the car was in real good shape, just need a light swirl removal.

I worked on this one for about 15 hours straight. Would have been quicker, but I had to compound the roof, trunk, and wing panels. Thanks!

I know this will be probably one of those impossible questions -- but I'm curious as to how long this type of application will be good for?

I mean, that's a TON of time ($$$$) to invest if this type of treatment will be needed every few months for most paint finishes.

Well, it really comes down to how you treat the car after I hand you back the keys. You can run it through an automatic car wash or use improper washing methods and it will have swirls again instantly(depending on how hard the clear is). It also depends on the color, of course black is the worse to show every imperfection in proper lighting. After I detail a car, I go through the steps of washing it and what not to do before they leave. And the wax down here in FL is only good for a little over a month, then it needs another coat unless you use a sealant which gives it another month or two maybe...

got a question, after the 105 is there a need to do anything finer to get any marks out or is the 105 sufficent in leaving a clear finish?

what is SIP and M105?

Yes, I was able to use SIP/White pad to get the marring from the wool pad out. It varies per car, but most likely you will always need to follow it up with an intermediate polish/pad combo.

They are both polishes made for machine use. SIP is Menzerna Super Intensive Polish, and M105 is Meguairs M105 Heavy Cut Compound.

I am not aloud to post pricing, but you could expect to pay anywhere from 3-600 for a job like this from most competent detailers.
