Anyone try spraying vinegar diluted in water? It works on mild cases of water spots. Our sprinklers douse our cars every other days, leaving water spots on them. This does the trick every time. If you let it go for months...I dunno if it will be enough.

Water and vinegar works for me. Wash the windshield with Dawn soap first, wipe dry then spray the diluted mix onto windshield and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes then wipe clean.

3m rubbing compound and it's clear coat safe just buff it on with a tarry towel I had some pretty bad water spots on the glass and it took it off with a little work but it did it you can get it autozone

I've used Magic Sponge and to some degree it worked fine.
However test it somewhere in the corner, not in direct view of your normal driving viewing range to make sure you like results.
