Re: Dual Action Polisher
How much are you looking to spend? They range from $120-350+
I personally have the Griots 6'' (and 3'') and love them. Easy to use, easy to control, and I think have one of the most powerful motors. And a lifetime warranty, which they stand behind.
I use Meguiars, and the porter cable at work and I still prefer the Griots.
check out Autogeek, they have a lot of information on there, and pretty good prices

The power, and how the GG buffer feels in my hands compared to the PC, and meg's.
Definitely do some research before you buy though, you might find the PC or the Meg's better suits your needs.
What kind of work at you wanting to do with cars?

Re: Dual Action Polisher
I want to be able to wax, polish and remove swirls on both my cars. I get my summer car detailed very often in the summer and it cost about 120$... so I figured from watching him do it that I could easily do this!

I am going to purchase the Flex XC 3401 VRG this spring. It's $325.00 approx., however, it has a 25 ft cable & it's built in Germany. The PC comes with a 9 ft cable I think, and, you have to be sure and read the instructions & make sure you get the right size extension or you'll burn up the motor.
The pros can correct me if I'm wrong, however, it's my understanding that it is so much more about technique, than it is product. If you get the professional line of a polish product that's been on the market for a considerable period of time, then obviously somebody likes it.
Junkman2000 has a lot of entertaining vids on youtube that will teach you a lot. He even has a vid showing him wetsanding his Vette after having practiced on his 'sleeper' for some time.
Autogeek also has a lot of vids, if you prefer ones that just has the guy showing you 'how to' and want to skip the extra time it takes in Junkman's vids to listen to his humor.
I think I'll go with the Meguiar's line in 2014. Not sure what I want to try for the sealant. However, I'm positive that I won't be spending $80.00 for an 8 oz jar of wax. I drive the car every day to work.
