They are mostly the same. They are only temporary if you don't reseal/clearcoat them.
Do the job completely and they will turn out awesome. If you aren't comfortable resealing them, a lot of PPM (paint protection film) companies offer pre-cut templates for your headlights. It is like a clearbra material for your headlight. Put that on after you restore the lens.

I've had good luck with this to seal, usually lasts any where from 6-8 months
as far as restoring. We'll need pics to see how bad they are and how much you'll need to do
I use a heavy cutting pad and chemical guys v32 polish and then the sealant

Maguires has a nice one that doesnt require a drill, seals lights and works very nice. Used on the TSX and I was very surprised.

Thanks guys.
Pretty much the top half of my headlights are affected.
and omg even replica parts are expensive for the specific headlight.
I didnt know they have protective film that I can put on post cleaning....i am definitely talented with resealing them.

The best thing you can do is wet sand them finishing with 800 - 1000 grit and then getting a body shop to clear them, works really well and actually lasts.

Re: best headlight restoration kit??
I agree with 94EG8. Ive tried all kinds of headlight restore kits. I'd have to do it 2-3 times a year to keep it looking great. Instead of going to a body shop though, I bought a Aerosol can of clear coat with hardner. The bottom of the can had a button/valve that I had to press to release the hardner into the clear. You have to shake it very well and spray. I did this 2 years ago, and the headlight still looks great... Not yellowing, fading, chipping or peeling. And the crv is not garage kept, so it sees the elements year round. Just dont use regular aerosol clear from a hardware store.
All these bullshit temporary kits, should be replaced with fine grit sand paper and a can of clear coat with hardner. But then again most people cant or wouldnt want to go through all that.

I used the Chemical Guys version with the sandpaper and polishes. Worked well in conjunction with a d/a polisher and a sealant. I’ve been lazy and forgot to reseal the headlights after six month so I’m back to square one.
