Presidential Detailed: '03 COBRA
A friend of mine just picked this car up a week ago from a local Ford Dealer. I honestly do not know how their detail department gets away with putting out this kind of work! This car was in the worse condition out of ALL the cars I have done so far..keep in mind this is Ford paint..its moderately hard. Also keep in mind this was 1 WEEK AFTER Ford detailed it.. http://is.rely.net/1-92-83128-l-OQ7p...WduI005zmA.gif
Id also like to mention that this was my first time using M105, I dont think a polish/compound can get any better than this! Most of the reviews say its got a learning curve, maybe I just did enough research before I tried using it. this stuff is no joke, it literrally removes ALL defects in 20-30 seconds whereas SIP/PFW would have taken atleast 3-5 minutes! It would have taken 4 passes to do what I did with M105 twice to get the same results...I have definitely found my new favorite! Now in the halogens.. :ignore:
Hood.. https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4405.jpg Front Fender.. https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4406.jpg Front Fender.. https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4407.jpg Door.. https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4408.jpg Rear Fender.. https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4408.jpg https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4412.jpg 50/50 with SIP/PFW..not quite enough but almost. https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4418.jpg This side with M105/Burgandy Wool. It left its own marring but it removed all defects very weel and in VERY LITTLE time. Was almost effortless! https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4419.jpg This side with SIP/PFW. I got a pretty good finish with this combo, however there were still traces of defects throughout the panel and took considerably more time to remove less defects. So I chose to do the car with M105. https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4420.jpg SIP LEFT/BEFORE/M105 RIGHT https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4421.jpg I did a small section over my M105 panel with 106FF/LC FLAT WHITE and found no holograms just as TSC17 said! Saved me ALOT of time! https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4426.jpg Driver/Passenger door after M105/Wool x2 https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4443.jpg https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4435.jpg Fender Before: https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4436.jpg Fender After M105/Wool x2 https://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b...a/IMG_4441.jpg |

Very good job! Looks great. I like the Ford dealer detail job http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif
|
haha, yeah unfortunately almost ALL dealers will do the same thing...
|
What are the big chunks I'm seeing?
Are those rock chips/damage? |
Yes, those are HUGE rock chips. This car has over 90k miles and was single owned by a lady who did only highway driving...sucks!
Fortunately the owner is going to respray the hood, bumper, mirros to get it in top shape! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif |
Re: (Presidential_Detail)
He needs to take it back to the Ford dealer and show them how it looks now. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (SneezinCD5)
He already did! Haha! Now hopefully they try to wash it for him! http://is.rely.net/1-92-30009-l-tEzP...BTGi0jOCgA.gif

Re: (qwk db8)
hey good job on the detailing, i just picked up a toyota supra and the paint is in similar shape, the car is also black and the swirls look similar, can you post the products you used and the steps?
|
Re: (Reego.)
Its all in the first post. Its going to require a high speed buffer and i wouldnt recommend it unless you have experience. Good luck!

Re: (Presidential_Detail)

Get yourself a PC random orbit machine, they sell full kits on autogeek.net and detailersdomain.com. Just pick a started kit that fits your budget. |
Re: (Presidential_Detail)
