What is the engine model that came with it.It has a 2.0l pgmfi in it now.I am some what confused by all of the engine numbers i see posted.I like the zip it has now but would like a little more.Anything i can do to what i have now without breaking the bank.Thanks Mark

The original engine used in 1986-1989 Accords is the A20. As for other engines that will fit, there is a JDM-only ersion of the B20 that will fitin this car. It is a 2.0 liter DOHC engine that produces 160HP. Otherwise, Place Racing used to make a mount kit that allowed you to swap one of the newer B-series engines (ie B16A, B18C, B20B/Z) into this generation of Accord. But Place Racing doesn't exist anymore. So the only way to get this kit is to luck out and find one used. Of course, you could always cut and weld mounts to drop in a B-series motor, or perhaps even an F, H, or K-series motor if you are REALLY ambitious. But this will definitely take LOTS of time and/or money.

Go with the JDM b20 from the older accords 160hp 160 TQ.......i wanted one back when i had my old accord but the prices were crazy then.
