Default Toms 74 Civic factory refresh

Hi everyone,

Newbie here

Picked up a nice 1974 civic a week ago. Long story short, I got her after i saw a friend restoring his 78 civic. He showed me pictures of other restored civics. It was Hook line and sinker!

This will be my first restoration project and the idea is to bring her back to her former glory and beyond. I will try to document as much as I can and hopefully learn along the way.

Oh yeah doing this restoration in conjunction with esolano. Check his build here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/classic-hondas-106/78-honda-civic-first-restoration-project-3128627/

Here she is below

don't know if that is original paint or not but if it is i would leave it. It looks super clean. theres nothing quite like the patina of original paint. It just has character you can't get elsewhere.

if its not then by all means do a full restore.

Nice one bro. Finally!!!
A new club is definitely in the making

This is a beautiful car in person. Nothing much to restore here, its in great shape as it is. Just pick the right colour if doing a respray.

Yes she is super clean. Not sure if its original paint but there are some panels that need addressing. If I don't find any rust or gremlins lurking when I strip her down, I may keep her original and just do a refresh. Still early days
