Default Texas 66 S600 Roadster

I want to share my in process restoration of my 1966 Honda S600 Roadster. I have appreciated the input from the S600/S800 community and sourcing parts. Its been (and still is) a large undertaking and I look forward to the day she's back on the road.

Year: 1966
Model: S600
Chassis: AS285-1006299

I found her for sale on Craigslist in my prior home state of Arizona. Here are some of the first pictures. Apparently had been in a garage up in the northwest, found and brought to Arizona where was put up for sale. Non running and I saw lots of potential and had been wanting one of these for years. The color was Red but to my surprise the original color was white and with the red interior (my favorite). She had an engine change at some point but was complete. Our journey started in 2012.

Here she is back at home and with her younger sibling

She looked nice but we were preparing to do a full restoration.

Please keep us updated on this. I'm currently working on my 1975 CVCC station wagon, once that is done then I'm looking for a S600/S800 coupe or convertible myself...

It looks fabulous by the way!

Looks great!
Assume you've got Spread Tools and Eurasia and Ortmann bookmarked for parts?

Looks great ! Is that a RYP CR I see next to your S600? Besides the sources Kuroneko suggested I would add Brian Baker as a source for parts. Here's his FB page.
Good luck on your revival of the S600.

Yup, thats the wife's CR

We've been working on the car for slowly for years now and I hope to slowly get our progress uploaded here to share. Parts have come from many places and I finally fixed my S600 Yahoo forum sign on.

Thanks everyone for their help. This is a complete rebuild and we have learned a lot!!

Our Honda's have Porsche and 240Z cousins The Porsche community has been super helpful with our build. Here are a couple pre-restoration family pics. We still have the CR, but our NSX and Fit have moved on to new homes. The block is from a Datsun 240Z.

Off with the many layers of paint, and lots of bondo!! Then off to the Porsche shop for the body work with expert traditional metal and lead work.

Great stuff!
I love seeing a tear down...

It looks like you've already got the right red badge for white car (if you're going back to white)...

Wow, this will be an amazing restoration! I'm loving those crazy tiny domed pistons! Plus, you gotta admit that the shell inside the Uhaul trailer is just adorable!

As you're not going for originality then, you should also look at the Spread Tools alternator conversion - much better performance, including charging at idle of course, and eliminates reg in engine compartment...

Love seeing the engine like that...
