Problem with fuel system/fuel pump.

1987 honda accord lx
I have been looking around at some other threads to find why my car will crank but not start. I have found some similar problems but mines a little bit different.
I did a fuel pressure test, and the gauge didn't move at all. The weird thing is that you can still hear the fuel pump prime in the back, and fuel still flows out in the front. So its not much of a fuel filter problem either.
I went in the back and pulled the service cap off to the fuel pump. I checked the battery voltage and it was somewhere around 12.4. ( don't remember exactly, not as important) After though, I check the voltage of the fuel pump connector going to the fuel pump. It would at 11-10 and then drop to about 9.5, even when the fuel pump would constantly run.
I assume it is some sort of electrical problem then, but I am not sure. I guess I am wondering if this is a likely thing to kinda just happen one morning, or is it maybe a relay or something else?

Re: Problem with fuel system/fuel pump.

Anyways, after doing more tests from my cars service manual I might have at least targeted the issue. Still not fully sure how to fit it however. According to the tests (unless I am doing it wrong, always a possibility) the black/yellow wire from the ignition switch to fuel cut off relay is bad, and the blue wire from the ignition coil to the fuel cut off relay is bad.

Does anybody have any experience with this kind of stuff, or have maybe had a similar problem? Tips would be helpful, thanks!

You need to take two giant steps back.

Are the spark plugs getting fuel? Are they getting spark? Are the points set correctly? When was it last tuned up? Etc., etc.

Your probably right actually. However, I did check for spark I just forgot to mention it. (mb) But ya, I totally forgot about timing on the air, fuel, and spark. 3 months ago it started for the first time in maybe 2-3 years, so you could totally be right. I'll check things involving that like the timing belt, and hopefully that will fix it. It does make more sense for something to slowly go bad, mentioning that the car has slowly been less consistent at starting. Instead of two wires simultaneously going bad, idk I hope that's it. Thanks!

fresh gas! Ethanol in the gas is really detrimental to old gasoline.
2 to 3 years can really mess up the quality of the gas... a few years ago my 86 civic (carbureted, I guess yours is FI) was parked outside for 6 months. Upon restarting, using a booster pack, it cranked and started but the engine ran with many hiccups.
