By what I've seen lately with these cars, $3000-$3500 is a fair price.
I've seen way too many piles of **** go for $2000 lately.

I think I'm passing on the purchase. Its gonna cost me an extra $1300 for shipping, plus I still have to certify it, plus other maintenance, plus 13% taxes on registration, so it could cost me close to $6000 when all said and done... too much.

So I saw your post on RPR....
You are gonna pass. Sometimes you have to, even though you don't want to.

Amazing shape, but it is still the carbureted engine, and that pile of vacuum controlled feedback is a headache if you have to pass smog. I still have not resolved my high NOx and have a waiver until january 2013.
They are good cars, but not worth $3000 even a 65Kmiles or 100k kms.
Get some fuel injected version that can be debugged more easily, but not necessarily cheaper. If you need 4x4 get a cherokee XJ, the good years are 93 to 96, 90 to 92 are OK, before you deal with a defunct RENIX fuel control system that is not bad, but hard to debug as well. After 96 jeep had some issues with engine parts. naxja.org/forum.
