old school awd honda wagon
Just wondering about these car's do other d series motor's bolt right in to the awd transmission? and how much power do these transmission's hold up to? Also do the wagon's use the same lowering spring as the 88-91 civic hatch's or are they different? cause idk anywhere that sells lowering springs for these kind of civic's.

post in the EF section... but a few d-series will bolt in. really only ZC motors. and no, it does not use quite the same rear suspension as regular cars. your best bet is ground control coilovers.

^^^ these OLD SCHOOL (lol) wagons hold up pretty well. There is a member onhere that boosted his and used it for auto-x , and handled great. Managed to get low 13's in the 1/4 with a stock motor.

I believe the 84-87 *wagon* will bolt up an 88+ D-series in a similar fashion to how the 84-87 Civics do when mixed with 86-89 Integra transmission/axles/hubs. I posted pics of someone else's Z6 bolted to an Integra transmission, and the required modification of the driver's mount bracket, in the swap thread still curent on the front page of this forum. Don't quote me on it word for word as I've never dealt with the 1G wagons beyond riding in a couple, but there is some swapability according to the forums.
88-91 wagon is very similar to 88-91 Civic. The springs and such are taller (probably DA), and the engines are a direct interchange. One of my friends has a 1.7 stroker Z6 with a 16G in one, pretty cool ride. The transmissions will handle some power, but if you want to turbo one you'll want to have backup gearboxes. It's a wierd double countershaft affair, and it won't accept speed shifts under any significant power. Great street setup, though.
