OG 82' civic H/B
I purchased a 82' civic, back in july of 08 and I want to get it appraised. This car is in immacculate condition with only 12,600 miles. Can anyone give me some leads? Check out the pics in my album.

Oh man that thing's mint. Only thing you'll really have to go off of is the NADA Classic guides. Generally the value of the old Hondas isn't very high. Yours might score a few bucks more than the average one though!

That's the crazy thing about a year difference in the value of the same model car. First gen Civics, although not commanding an outstanding market value, can hold their own.
My 79 carries a high retail of $2,400. And you know when these cars are in that good condition, they sell for almost double or 50% more than that. An 82 model carries a high end value of $2,700. But you won't see many sell for that much. The second gens just aren't that sought after like the first gen.

Yeah the Accords are like that too. High retail for my 81 is $1700. I see them in OK condition w/ waxed paint jobs go for like $4000-5000 on eBay all the time. Then sometimes, you'll see a nice one that won't sell AT ALL. I just don't get it sometimes.
Sometimes I think if it's a 79, people are interested... if it's an 80, it's not as interesting. I think people see 197x and go "oh man a 70's Honda!" but a 1980 is just another 80's Honda. Know what I mean? I don't really get it, but people are stupid sometimes... :-P

^^^ Lolol. I read ya. It seems that having a 197x car brings more of a feeling of old and classic over a 198x. And like you said, even the one year difference with 1979 and 1980 can be seen as a big difference.
