<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by smithenhiven &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Well, I knew I shouldn't have bought that 83 1500S, the local municipality says I can't have an unregistered car just sitting in my driveway, and I've got nowhere else to put it, so I'm going to try and sell it.

It's a 83 Civic 1500S, 124K miles, interior is in exceptionally well condition, one small crack in the dash, a few tears in the seats, but otherwise nice.

The body needs some attention. There are some rust spots, but nothing rusted through, very minor stuff. Faded paint on roof, and some dents/dings/scratches here and there.

I personally haven't heard the car run, but the previous owner assures me that it runs and drives fine. It's not running at the moment because the down-pipe that runs off of the exhuast manifold was off (I guess the original peice failed, and I've got a new peice to put on). I just haven't gotten around to putting it on yet.

Now I would just like to just get back what I have into it. I paid $400 for the car, $50 to my friend to pick it up, and something like $200 in parts (new cat convertor, and the exhuast peice I mentioned had to be custom made, new distrib cap/rotor, and a few other minor things).

So $650 will buy the car as-is. However, if it appears the car would make me more money by parting it out, I will certainly consider doing that (if interested in parts, please post or PM me with what you might be interested in).

Jason. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Your local municipality is full of ****. They cannot tell you what you can have on "your" property. They "can" say you can't park and unregistered vehicle on a city street. If it is actually in your drive way, tell them to expletive off.

most muni laws (actual incorporated cities and towns) do not allow non-street legal vehicles exposed on one's property (even tarp'd in the back yard behind a privacy fence). the only way to keep it, is to put it in the garage (and some cities will bitch about that)

and, to a city, non-tagged, non-registered, non-insured, is non-street legal.

and, really....there's nothing the private home owner can do, except move.

(i have 20 hondas in my current collection, only 5 of them are fully street legal.....

i've played this game more than a couple times)

Yup, your wrong! In my city every car on your property has to be licenced and currently tabed. Cant have a car on jackstands for more than 20 days at a time either. It sucks but Im not payin the $850 fine for each violation! Gota move outa the city if you want to get away with that one...

FS: 2nd gen Civic parts

Well, a project from last winter resulted in a car with much more cancer than was expected. So, I have some parts from an 82 1500 GL.

5spd gauge cluster in decent shape. Not sure on mileage, but I can check.
Passenger side tail light in good shape. Not cracked, and did not have any condensation in it.
I also have a set of 13" beauty rings that have little bit of pitting, but in pretty good shape.
I might have a speedo cable and a hood release laying around too, but most other parts have been sold or weren't worth keeping.
PM me if you want pics or shoot me an offer!

Um check the for sale thread on HT, craigslist, ebay or any other webpage on the net. Its not that hard to find classic Hondas for sale plus it helps to be more specific...

Default 87 CRX D15A3 engine/tranny out of racecar $1000 or part

D15A3 that came out of my racecar. Bottom end was built about 5 years ago, new head by Chuck Noonan, LSD is CRE (aka by Chuck Noonan), big aluminum oil pan. SCCA IT legal. Tranny has some grinding between gears and the clutch is worn, but drivable for HPDE's. ECU and wiring also included. I'm putting a B in the CRX so this is available complete. Otherwise, I'll start parting. If you want a major assembly (just engine, just tranny, for example), I'll do it. Local pickup in Hopkinton, MA for the whole thing as a unit. I can ship the tranny. Not the engine....too heavy for me to carry. This thing was bulletproof. I'm in prepared class, so can put any 4 cyl engine in the car that I want, so am doing a poor man's type R setup with a quaife. aka....spending real money.

email me at Jackffr1846 "at" msn "dot" com

pics for serious inquiries

No such thing. First thing is that those weren't fog lights. They were turn signals. Next is that 1977 was the last year those "fog lights" were placed in that position. In 1978, they started integrating them under the bumper.

Default WTB 1st Gen Civic Stuff...

WTB a good 1st gen civic EB3 already "done" or a good 1st gen accord non cvcc engine (?EN1?) for my 1979 1200 civic. The current EB3 is leaking oil like a sieve around the flywheel. Located in N.W. Georgia (Dalton area). Also, if anyone has any AZ or N 600 parts (1969-1972) local let me know.
Thanks,
KCandtheZ
