New kid on the block. . .
Hello there!
I just purchased a 1985 CRX Si, so far I dig it. I just figured I would come on here and say hello.
My background is mostly VWs though, and I really dig Nissans too, I have an '89 240SX as well. The CRX will be my commuter, but I want it to have style too. Which brings me to my first question.
How the hell do you lower the front of the car? I was crawling around underneath it and noticed it doesnt have any springs up front. . .
I guess that was my only question. Anyways, I'll get some pictures up when I can. Thanks!

Sup? Well,it has torsion bars (and lowering CAN be done,w a lil work) Hint: has a spline type setup,w a key to get rid of... You can simply adj the height adj for a lil bit lower-but I'm thinking you wanna semi "slam" her,lol Search 1st gen crx,and you'll pull up a site dedicated to em...

Yeah, I come from a world of really really low cars, my last jetta had 1/2 of ground clearance. slamming is good. Im not gonna using it for performance stuff, I wanna keep it clean and simple, it is my daily after all.

Re: New kid on the block. . .
considering you don't even know how to lower your car i'd suggest not giving information out about a chassis you know nothing about.
original poster: the suspension on these cars are very simple, and like Bigz said it is a spline t-bar setup. i would suggest if you want to go REALLY low, get 27mm t-bars to keep it off the pavement and you will have to get a shortened shaft shock otherwise you will be slamming the piston repeatedly into the body of the shock.

Thanks a lot for the help guys. And that doesnt sound too bad really. I ran into some other questions, first off, the front fenders are plastic arent they? And is there any other seats I can throw into this thing? The stock ones are horrible. And where can I get 27mm torsion bars?

upgrademotoring.com for t-bars
if you switch the rails, 88 and 88 ONLY CRX Si seats will bolt in.
and yes, sadly the first gen CRX uses plastic fenders. they can be found on ebay i believe.. or you can repair with fiberglass.
