First, the bitch pin: yeah man, they reeeaallly suck! Don't try to hammer it out too hard while it's still in the car or you might break the aluminum housing where the shift rod goes into the tranny. Undo the other end (the one under the shifter) and take the rod out with the transmission and engine. Then when it's all out, support the bottom side of the rod with the bitch pin in it with a socket or something, spray it good with WD-40/PB Blaster/etc, and go ape **** on it with a properly sized punch and a BFH. Again, be sure the bottom of that rod is supported or you'll just bend it or hammer it out the side of your transmission.
The starter is on the upper rear side of the transmission. As far as the speedo cable and other wiring, go to http://www.redpepperracing.com, click on "Manuals" at the top of the page, and read the manual.

The starter sits right next to the dizzy. Just look towards the firewall and there it is.
The speedo cable is on the firewall side of the tranny, facing the firewall.
