Default My S600

Ok, so my car is finally being worked on again after it's been sitting around all this time. Lifted the car up, some surface rust underneath, but frame in good shape

Car came with a few extra new parts, so I decided to replace a few (chrome headlight trim, exhaust hanger).

For some reason, I kept thinking it had a soft-top, but it's gone I did find a rare windshield windscreen that goes across the windshield frame. I found a wooden shift-**** in the glove compartment, looks like an aftermarket unit to me.

Starter motor was shot to hell when it was started with a jumpbox (tripped the circuit breaker in the shop). Norman Hart hooked me up with one.

Here's some pics from a recent S2000 show in TX:

Here's a pic of my other not-quite-classic-yet-Honda toy (car on the right): 1994 Dallara/Mugen-Honda F3 (ex-R. Schumacher). I'm too poor to own the Carrera Cup Car on the left.

Must be rough to only be able to afford a Honda F3 car and an S600, I feel so bad for you, if only you could throw a couple classic Accords into your mix, you might have some real Hondas.

Seriously though, that S600 looks really straight and clean. You mention rust underneath... How long ago was it last restored?

Looking good,

And condsider yourself lucky to have that wind-deflector, although they came standard on the convertibles, most survivors don't have them, and they hardly ever come up for sale used.

And wow, you've got an F3 race car, how cool is that! Do you track that thing?

I found the deflector by accident. It was crammed in the back of the passenger seat. It's just a plastic piece with some damage, but the overall integrity of the deflector is intact.

I plan on tracking the F3 either this summer or next spring. Right now, I'm focusing on the S600. It's an interesting car. It was first purchased by Willie Weber (Michael Schumacher's manager). His team had 2 drivers: Ralf Schumacher and Sascha Maassen. Ralf had a bad accident that year, so it makes me think it's Sascha's car (unsure). He did win Macau GP that year. It was an Opel-Spiess powered car. Steve Nichols later bought the car (Ayrton Senna's F1 chief engineer) and dumped the Opel for the Mugen-Honda MF-204B race motor.

You should feel bad. I missed out on buying Alex Zanardi's F3000 Reynard racecar for $45k. It doesn't have the original Mugen-Honda V8, but it did have a nice GM/Holden V8 and was also formerly raced by Scott Dixon.

I know, huh!? "Oh, woe is me, woe is me. I only have a few sweet rides. It's hard times around here, fellas."

Really, though, that's a very nice S600. That F3 - I'd end up hurting myself with something like that. But, at least it'd be a lot of fun! Very nice collection.

Yup, hard times indeed

Thanks for the compliments. It's a bit tougher working on getting the F3 running, restoring the S600, and modding my S2000 simultaneously. At the rate I'm going, I don't think I'll run the F3 until next spring I hope to get the S600's motor started by Christmas.

I just got some Mugen parts for a 1st gen Civic. Maybe it'll fit on the S600

Holy macaroni, you're my hero.

Best Honda Collection EVER.

Just add a Dream 305, an original Super Cub, and a nice CB750-4 to it and you've got the works!

Thanks! Yeah, I definitely want a Super Cub in the future. I was going to purchase a 1980 Mugen ME360 dirtbike from Australia, but missed out on that deal. Also eye'd Jenson Button's NSX Type-R for dirt-cheap, but the East Germans won't sell it to me

No, they were never sold in the US. The closest they came was Canada, and they weren't sold in large quantities there.
