ok so the day was damn near un-eventfull i spent 8 hours under the car and only managed to install 1 tie rod end, the drivers side swaybar linkage and get a nice tomato red sunburn. In addition, i found out that rock auto sent me the wrong front struts and i have 4 rear struts for this car now. on top of that the front strut tightening bolt is stripped out and the car is no longer safe to drive (go me D

the control arm has a nut attached to it, that i don't have a right size wrench for so couldnt do much after all was said and done

i might send it to midas today or tomorrow and have them fix the issues with it and i will probably photo-document the fix... before i even started i asked my work if i could use the lifts and i was denied use of them and i started the project feeling that i really dont want to do this on my back

i have attached pics of the progress i have done so far, though this almost feels like a step back

ok so midas wants about 1K bucks to do the job thats in store, so thats not happening!
so on to plan B: getting a longer bolt and a nut to tighten down the strut and seeing if it can support its self

OK! so i test drove the car today and so far so good! i am taking it to my work to get it aligned.

the main reason for fixing the tie rod was the horrid clicking sound when i would go over speed bumps and that is officially gone now . :D i just wanted to swap out the other items too which is where my problem came into play!

if all goes well and i dont die in a horrible car wreck then i am fairly sure this car is gunna stay mine for a bit longer

Put SS brake lines in there to replace the rubber onces. Get a NUESPEED set from www.andysautosport.com they will increase brake and pedal feel amazingly. The rubber hoses flex and expand ALOT under hard braking.

I also have a 87 Rex Si - https://honda-tech.com/forums/classic-hondas-106/my-new-87-crx-si-2761094/

i took my car into the shop at school today and replaced the old brake master cylinder

pics attached: i was a dumbshit and forgot to take progress pictures but this was done in about an hour and a half including bleeding the brake lines and bench bleeding the master cylinder

i also could not get the bushings off the other side and had to forgo that procedure

enjoy!

so this is totally not a Honda BUT it is a friggin slick car that rolled into my work which is a honda dealership, apparently its a replica 1966 Ford GT40 Lamanz Race car that a former coworker had built himself he spent 10 years building it and about 60 thousand bucks building it to spec. and upgrading the carbs to fuel injection its not to shabby when they only made 1000 of them and the Origional cars go for about 1.5million at auction
