my 86 crx. bseries equipped
hey guys
i dont really post much but i thought you guys would like this. i spent all season trying to sort it out and never got a clean pass. went 11.76 but i was having some issues with it going lean at the end of the track. i think i finally traced the problem back to having the injectors placed on the bottom of the manifold, but havent gotten back to the track to get a pass and doubt i will this year.
setup is a 2.2L bseries with some stuff done to it.

Love the car, the motor, the wheels, and definitely the power!!
Super clean swap but why would you put the injectors underneath the intake manifold?
And what intake tube is that?

Re: (allnaturalb16)
i was trying to achieve better fuel atomization by moving the injectors back but the angle they are placed sprays them at the port roof and i think a lot of the fuel was falling out of suspention and not burning. i moved them back to the top and the engine seemed to run a lot nicer. i also made some changes to the engine since the last time i was on the dyno.
last season with 205/156 off this dyno i went 12.0@113 @ 2250lbs.
mustang dyno lol
and i made the 3" intake tube. i made just about everything i could. it takes alot of modifications to get these engines in there, as you guys all probably know.

Re: (junkspeedproject)
its the victor X manifold. i machined some plugs and welded them in the IACV holes, although you could probably get the IACV to fit. it is a skunk2 throttle body and i made the lower fuel rail. but i have since moved the rail back to the OEM location and it seems to be working better.

Re: (vtec_killer_)
the engine has a .750" deckplate so i am running a ford focus timing belt. i cut the head about .090" to get the combustion chambers really small. so when i put it all together there was too much slack on the intake side of the engine. when i rotated the engine through the belt wanted to climb up on the intake gear and then skip a tooth. so i built the extra tensioner setup out of an old single cam tensioner and it has worked great.

the battery and the fuel cell make me nervous but I suppose that they do put more weight over the front wheels... just don't hit nothin!!!
pimp car though, looks like a well-fed monster, how many EFs and EGs does that thing eat a day??

the car has been sitting for a couple months. i took it to the first race this season, spun a lot but went 11.80 at 120. need to spend some time getting the car to leave better. we put the car on a dynojet and made 264/177 but havent ran it at the track yet. little update for you guys

Dude, this is the car I dream of building if I ever have the money. Does this fall under pro or sportsman rules? X2 kudos for the trick tensioner. Looks like maybe you had to cut and make the intake mani smaller so it would fit? I'm considering Weber carbs ala "Bizi" for simplicity's sake, but I could be dead wrong on that...May have a hard time making them fit for one...
