ic, I was just reading through your build. I have to say most build threads don't really catch my eye, but this one sure did!
I'm in the area btw. If you're ever willing, I would love to see the car irl. I have an '88 CRX in white and a '98 Civic coupe (with a GSR as well) in red as well if you'd ever want pics together.
Very neat car. I love it.

I was just reading through your CRX build coincidentally. I was diggin on it and then I was like 'oh snap, another NWer." hehe I may have the opportunity to acquire a '91 Si CRX for cheap here shortly myself. I sure do miss my rex. I would love to rotisserie one some day. One of the best cars honda ever made.

thanks for all the comments.
been busy tweaking the brake setup. changed out the stock 13/16" master cylinder for a subaru 15/16". Took a little massaging to make it fit, but it was a much closer match than later Honda 15/16" master cylinders. now just need to find a set of rear knuckles to mock up the rear discs.
the honeycomb grill came from a guy in australia. have never seen one here in the US, though I think they were available.

a couple detail shots I forgot to post earlier showing wheel clearance. I like the pics so I thought I'd share them, especially the second one.
tight fit
perfect
(Calipers have been cleaned and a fresh coat of paint was added before final install)
The Subaru master cylinder works great so far as well. Pedal feel is excellent. Just need to find some rear knuckles to mock up the rear conversion and then swap out the prop valve.
I passed up a chance to get the rear knuckles for super cheap about a month ago and now I'm totally kicking myself. There aren't a whole lot of these cars being parted out on craigslist in my area. lol.

Subscribed! For inspiration of a project I'd like to do someday. Mad props, love every part of the car pretty much. Where the update on what you did to the headlights??

LINK on how the HID retro works. I took ample inspiration from this guy with his MINI (<-- Definitely check this out!). I used fx-35 bi-xenons in mine with FX-R lenses. Light output is beautiful.
I didn't get any pics of my own retro except for this:
epoxying the allthread to the back of the housing seems a little sketchy, but they are holding up perfect after over a year of service. (I used that metal epoxy putty stuff that you can form with your hands before it cures.) Huge benefit to a setup like this is you have a TONS of adjustments to dial it in just right once installed.
maybe I can get some light output shots here soon.
