Wondering if you got it running in time? if so did you win anything?
I was also wondering if you could do me a HUGE favor. I am having trouble remembering how the wires go back onto my STARTER MAGNETIC switch. I disassembled ALL of the wires, and battery clamps to clean them, and forgot to take the right pictures of the area before. The service manual is not any kind of help. I would greatly appreciate it if you could maybe take a picture (or two)of the top connections, and how all the wires connect ie: starter black wire, negative black-and the battery red. plus those other three smaller wires. Its like 110ºF in my garage and I am losing my mind!!!!!!!

Those pictures would really help me alot. I'm about 97% of the way ready to try and start the car for the first time in 30 years, I just don't want to short out the wiring at this point.
What kind of muffler are you having made? is it a clone of the original style? I would like to see what you come up with, cause I will need to have an exhaust rigged up for myself also (way down the road) Thanks again!

Yeah, its a clone of the original one. I should have it by the weekend if everything goes to plan. I will take some pictures of it when I get it.

Its the best feeling when it starts up.

I made alittle progress today. My goal was to change the flexible joints to reproduction ones. Removed the exhaust system, it came off pretty easy which I was surprised. I wonder what the car will sound like with no exhaust? The propeller shaft dropped down ok due to the flexible joints falling off in pieces. But getting the prop shaft back up is a different story...I'm going to have to move the motor and gearbox forward, otherwise the flex joints hits. Nothing is easy, is it. Fun though.

Exhaust system! The problem is the those two small hot dogs mufflers, its restricting airflow/gasses arnt mixing or something. Soon as we get the new original muffler on and tune the carbys it should run.

I guess Honda should have stuck with the early S600 drive-shaft design, then you wouldn't have the problem of moving the engine/tranny forward, because the early driveshafts can actually pull and push within itself to give you more or less distance with the driveshaft, (kind of like a shock, but with no "spring" to it). Kind of neat, I'll see about taking a picture to show you one of these days. Plus, it's only got one rubber flex joint.

I can't believe you have to move the engine/trans to get the exhaust back in. sounds like a real pain in the butt!

So its all happened today. Well, not really. We hired out a engine crane for the day and set out with the help of my father to get this prop shaft back in with the new flex joints. We had some fun, took a little while getting the bolts in to hold the shaft in place. BUT ITS IN!

The carbs are off, not sure what to do with them yet. One of the guys from the honda club said they would come around and help us clean them and give them a tune them up, as I have no idea what to look for, or where to start.

sweet. lookin good man. i'm surprised at the design with the "flex joint". i don't know why they wouldn't use a standard u joint? that looks like it's faulty by design! oh well.

LOOK WHAT ARRIVED IN THE MAIL TODAY!!! Hopefully can get it booked into the exhaust shop wednesday, get it installed. I got the carbys looked at and cleaned, and they seem to be fine. The floats were all different levels, one of the needles were upside down!!! All fixed now, goes back on the car when I can the muffler on.

First post here - stumbled across this thread while looking for S600 resources.

There was no gold coloured plating in the engine compartment. I have the S600 coupe brochure in colour, showing a silver air cleaner (though with gold highlights from the lighting). I also look after my wife's S600 convertible, which she's had from new and I've known for all that time (bar a few months). No gold zinc.

That's a nice looking car, ztlohmak, and getting nicer with each successive picture.

BTW, I'm looking for an ignition switch (with key), if any reader has a spare.

Yeah, I couldnt find solid evidence that it was gold so I just went with silver zinc. I dont have a spare ignition switch sorry.

Just another small update on the car. I started to work on the interior to brighten it up abit. Hit abit of a wall at the moment, the throttle lever has alittle bit to much wear, and the accelerator cable is sticking, so it cant be tuned. Borrowed one of my neighbours wheels, its 16", its almost as tall as the front! 4x4 action! The black with chrome lip does look nice with the red.
