Welcome Troy!
This web site is good for old Hondas, but the best web site for the 1st Gen CRX (1984-87) is http://www.redpepperracing.com. Good information and good people over there. Be sure to read the wiki, it will answer most of your questions.
You can the effect of a CAI with your stock air cleaner assembly by cutting a large hole below the air filter. On the http://www.redpepperracing.com website there are lots of ideas for CAI on that car.
If you plan on kick'n some tunes with your CRX... you have picked the wrong car. The alternator is not very strong in that car. You will need to carry an extra battery or two to get the big sound.
If you do not want to kill yourself in that car be sure to get an ADDCO rear sway bar and add a set of 86-89 Integra front disks and calipers.
