Front suspension 86 civic question?
Hey guys I just picked up an 86 civic. The front of the car doesn't have springs it has torsion bars. I'm aware on how to adjust them down using the bolt.
But I was wondering if anyone can enlighten me on how to move the torsion bars "one notch lower" before I adjust the screw to get it really low?
If anyone has answers let me know

Re: Front suspension 86 civic question?
Welcome to the world of torsion bars.
Long story short, to re-index your torsion bars you will need to remove them from the torsion tubes and put them back in one nothc lower.
Lowering a car eats up suspension travel, something these cars do not have a lot of to start with. If you decide to slam your car, you will need to make some other modifications to get some of the suspension travel back. the cheapest/easiest is to remove the front struts, remove the brakeline brackets from the struts and mount the bottom of the struts about an inch lower in the knuckle. I als highly recommend adding a set of camber pates which will give you another inch of suspension travel at the top of the strut.

Re: Front suspension 86 civic question?
The only good way to do this and mainain good handling and safety is to get stiffer torsion bars and then get the Tein suspension through Heel Toe Automotive.
