CRX engine swap?
Im getting ready to sell my accord, and will have money to buy a new engine for my '84 crx. Any suggestions? Im looking for something newer and as least complicated as possible, but still have something nice. I've been suggested b16 or k20 but any advice would be very helpful, and advice on transmissions, axles and mounts too.
Thanks

Re: CRX engine swap?
anything will be a pain because you will have to rewire everything.. your car is carbed so nothing is plumbed right for the fuel, too. you'll have to get all new lines, a fuel pump, add all the wires for the ECU.. it can be done, but are you willing to spend the effort to do it?

ok, thats what had been suggested to me by some one else too was to find a car with the back smashed. Any other vehicles that would make for good engine swaps?

Re: CRX engine swap?
I've been looking at complete engines with transmissions online, most seem pretty similiar. Is there any particular characteristics I should be looking for? and what about axles?

Re: CRX engine swap?
E-AT_me already covered it.
Easiest if you have a 1300 would be getting a 1500 carb. Easiest FI: just get a 85-87 Si engine and add the FI system. Best/Easiest IMO: 86-89 Integra, if you get the whole car for parts.
I prefer the Integra D16 swap for quick/easy plus it includes the knuckles needed for this swap, and needed if you later upgrade again to B-series. Also it include the brakes. Stock brakes are barely enough for a stock Civic/CRX, so if you are adding more power you really should be adding more stopping power too. Since your car is carb the Integra will also have all the wires you will need to manage the FI engine.
