Considering updating a 1985-1987 CRX
Hey guys...Im looking into buying a 1985-1987 CRX. I was just curious though, I would like to drop a D15 or D16 into it, since I have someone willing to sell me a good motor cheap. I was just curious though about what it would take to fit that in there. Its Multi Point, and cable trans, and OBD0. But I don't know what all is compatible to put that D-Series motor into the older car. Would I have to get new mounts, linkage, axles, hubs, clutch cable, throttle cable, etc.,or can I just use the OEM stuff from the old CRX? If anyone knows what its going to take, anything would be helpful. I know you need to change all of that stuff to go B-Series in an EF (88-91), but Im not all to familiar with the older models with going to D-Series. I would also like to make it OBD1 if possible. Should I just send the harness to RyWire for that? Again, any info would help. Thanks in advance guys!!

nothing from the EF chassis (88-91) is a direct bolt on to the 1st gen cars except the front brakes, and maybe couple of small bits here and there. The swap you are considering will require custom mounts, axles, linkage, wiring, etc etc.

Re: (funkmaster)
look into a D16a1 from an 86-87 integra. it's the most "bolt in" swap you can get. 88+ motors are PITA with mounts having to be completely custom made.
