I need some engine specs for a 1983 Civic CVCC 1.5L engine. I don't want to swap, I would rather tune the existing engine for a mix of performance and gas mileage. Has anyone done a complete recurve on the distributor, added some fire to the ignition, and put on a tweeked carb of any sort? I see that the Weber 32/36 or double 38's are popular;but, there are other carbs out there. I would prefer a 2150 Motorcraft believe it or not. Assuming I can find the right venturi size. All input appreciated.

Only specs I have are on the a brochure that i got.

1488cc
compression: 9.3:1
Max Hp: 67 @5000 rpm
Max Tq: 79.3 3500 rpm.

I dont know stroke, bore or any of that other stuff. If you do find any information, please share it, as it is hard to come by.

Recurving the distributor is easy. Dig to the bottom of the distributor and replace the ignition advance springs with lighter units (your local hardware store has'em).

Power is made in the head. Improving flow through the head is where you will make more power.

try to find the Canadian cyl head for that thing also sold in Europe, dump the cvcc head as far as you can, once you swap the head you can add webbers, and do all kinds of stuff, the Factory Siamese head with the manifold above the exhaust is worthless.
