87 civic sedan front end
does anyone know which JDM front end would fit for this yr? it doesnt have to be JDM. also, d16 vtec tranny will fit my d15 nonv motor correct?

there is no real such thing as a JDM front end. the fronts were pretty much the same. only main difference is that most of the world kept the 84-85 header panel and added "aero" glass headlights in 86/87 for a more swept back look, and different sidemarkers. they did offer the civic 4 door with a ZC, so presumably you could try and locate a ZC hood. but they are extremely rare. also extremely rare would be the "hooded lights" for early 84 models. basically, you have the recessed lights and little eyelids would electronically raise up to provide better light, and lower to provide better aero. hardly noticeable to tell the truth.
and no, trannies aren't interchangeable. the 84-87's use a different trans and motor mounts than the 88+ d series motors, and as such the 84-87's might as well be called an EW, which is the engine code for 84-86. only in 87 i believe they switched to the D series nominclature.
