'83 Honda Civic fuel pump not getting power

I NEED HELP, REAL BAD!

I'm very new to this forum (created an account just for this) and couldn't find a gen 2 specific area so I'm posting here. I'm sorry if this is wrong. This is my first Honda. I'm a Volkswagen guy.

The fuel pump isn't getting power. There's power to the fuse under the dash. From what I'm reading, there's a relay for the fuel pump somewhere but I can't find it or any information on where it is. Everywhere I go there don't go back this far in years.

If you have power at the fuse the two things that I would check is the power to the fuel pump relay which is located above the fuses under the dash.

In addition to the power, the relay must be enabled by a second input that originates from the distributor through the wiring that goes to the coil and one additional wire connects to an electrical lead on the firewall which appears to be a capacitor. This is only enabled when the distributor is physically spinning.

Remove the relay and you will see four slots that can accept spade connectors. Make a double ended spade wire so that the two top slots are connected. If the fuel pump runs after turning the key to the "run" position, you have an issue with the enableing circuit that serves as a safety measure when and if you get into an accident and the engine stops running thus the fuel supply gets cut off.

I strongly recommend getting shop manual which is pretty cheap on eBay...
