82 Accord Rear Brake Problem
Any help is much appreciated.
My rear driver's side tire will not turn; locked up good and tight. My goal is to get the tire to rotate so that I can drive it a short distance home. Where I can take more time to work on it. Currently it is stuck in the parking lot of my office.
I have the brake drum off. But now I'm not entirely sure what I should be looking for or what to do.
I also am not sure how to test if the tire will rotate once I mess with the brake without having to put the entire tire back on.
Finally if I can't get an easy fix I am interested to know any ideas where I can dis in ect this one brake or take it out completely so that I can drive it home at least.
I do have a picture but not seeing how I can post it.

Re: 82 Accord Rear Brake Problem
Well I was able to get the car home. I did my best at cleaning the brake shoes, the inside of the drum and the (round cylinder that has the brake fluid at the top).
I then added a whole bunch of grease to the bearings and to the inside of the drum where the bearings spin. I also drenched the shoes and all the springs with brake fluid.
I still wasn't sure if it was going to work as I put everything back. Oh yeah, I also made sure the bearings were placed inside the drum correctly and snuggly.
After getting the drum back on I was able to turn the drum by hand for the first time since the problem started. Ultimately the cAr made it back home without issue.

Re: 82 Accord Rear Brake Problem
you drenched the shoes with brake fluid, or with brake cleaner?
If you drenched them with actual brake fluid you have ruined them and will have to replace them.
My first car was an 82 accord hatch. I miss that old car...would love to swap in a b-series to one one day.
