it is tough to build an 11 sec street car, let alone using an 88 Accord. It can be done, but be prepared to spend some money or know people who can do good fab work.
The b20a is in the JDM version of the car. the engine you probably have is an A20A3, which is a good boost engine as it is cast iron and has a closed deck compared to many honda engines. the problem is that the head doesnt flow the greatest stock and the intake manifold sucks, that can all be fixed though with a good head porter and aftermarket intake manifold. there are no turbo "kits" or pistons/rods/cam actually made for it. so custom and mix matching parts is the name of the game. i have been out of the a20 game for a while so I can not tell you exactly what is available or can be used. I have an 88 LXi coupe that I swapped a newer B-series engine into...so you can make these cars go.
Anyway, you can make it an 11sec ride, but it will take time, patience, and creativity.
also, try http://www.3geez.com lots of turbo info there!

No, a H22 is a drop in for the CB/CD/CG chassis NOT the old ones.......
A B series is the drop in for the older model Accords.

Re: (nicokpe)
B-series dont even "drop in". the only motor that drops in is the B20A8, which ONLY came in the JDM/EDM/NZDM(lol) accord of that era. The others require mounts, axles, etc.

Re: (89accord_lxi)
go to the junkyard and find a b20 and transmission in an older prelude. take it out, re build it and clean the snot out of it. drop it in, take it out. and have fun.

Re: (89turboaccord)
correct.. the usdm is straight lined motor.. meaning it doesnt lean front or back.. the jdm B20A1 slants toward the radiator.. so if the op is gunna get a B20 then he should look for the one that slants toward the radiator

The B20 for our Accords was never brought to the US in any Honda, but it was a factory motor option in our Accords anywhere other then the America's, so you won't need to do much of any custom fabrication to make the swap. The only way to get a B20 to just drop in there is to pick one up from an engine importer, or find someone here in the states that already has one and is willing to sell.
89accord_lx1: Just curious... ...when you say "just something to get it driving again" am I to assume that your motor is shot? If so, and you're concerned with getting it going, just go to a junkyard and get yourself another A20 for next to nothing. They're a dime-a-dozen b/c no one wants them, and there's millions of 3rd gen Accords out there, so there's no demand at all.
Once you do that, you can build up the A20 to make some pretty respectable horsepower, and if you wanted to you could even boost it and make some damn good power relatively cheap. With the cast iron block of the A20, and long stroke, it makes it a great block to boost b/c of it's strength. Where you'll run into power limitations is at the head due to a single cam not allowing as much flow as a dohc.
