i wanna do a swap but idk what will fit into it and i posted on hybrids but no one responded

Re: (84hatchdx)
You can swap in a D16a1 from the 86-87 Integra. These motors are fuel injected so you will need to convert your car to a fuel injected fuel system. NOT an easy swap. For more info for this car go to RedpepperRacing.com They can help you with any other ways to get more power from this car.

bump for an oldie

Re: 1984 hatchback dx (johnnydelcampo)
Go through the brake system so it will stop reliably. Have fun with it. I bet it would be a rocket ship w/ a b16a.
|
Re: 1984 hatchback dx (ridenbug)
yea the breaks on it suck im gonna have to go through them
|
Re: 1984 hatchback dx (84hatchdx)
drop a b16a in it go to the hasport website 599 for the mounts and 1500-2500 for the engine, tranny, ecu, etc
if you keep it looking like that ,it would be one hell of a sleeper https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif |
Re: 1984 hatchback dx (beana)
yea i want it to look kinda stock from the outside but be fast

Re: 1984 hatchback dx (84hatchdx)
Cool find!
The best site for the 3rd Gen Civic (and its cousin the 1st Gen CRX) is http://www.redpepperracing.com. Lots of good people with plenty of first hand knowledge. For the brakes, swap in the front rotors, calipers and caliper brackets from a 86-89 Integra. They are a direct bolt on. Buy some quality pads to go with them. You could also swap in the rear disks from the Integra, but that is a waste of time. Long story short: rear disk are heavier and do not offer any extra stopping power. Engine swaps are so boring. Everybody is doing them. The early Integra's D16A1 is a direct bolt in with its trasnmission, B and K series can be made to fit. The stock engine can be built to make power, but it may not be smog legal in your area. Lots of induction, some simple head work and other simple tweaks can yield lots of power. Scott |
Re: 1984 hatchback dx (cbstd)
ok thanks man i didnt know if i could make this motor fast or not i want to but i dont wanna blow it up and not have a car to drive
|
Re: 1984 hatchback dx (84hatchdx)
Swap a sohc vtec in, it will be fun, reliable and will feel faster cuz the car is so light. If more is needed, you can always go boost.
