Civic loses power taking corners.
I got a 85 DX hatch with the stock 1.5L, 5 speed
I just got it running again after I snapped my timing belt. I put a different DX head on it, new timing belt, and head gasket. Now when I take a corner a little fast it jumps around like it's dying but at slower speed it's fine and it drives fine too. It did sit for like 3 months in my garage before I fixed it. I'm completely lost on where to even start. So any help would be appreciated. My only guess would be the carb. But it runs great, has power, great on the freeway, and doesn't miss a beat until you take a corner fast.

My guess would be the carburetor floats They probally need to be adjusted so the carburetor fills with more gas. When your driving straight, the fuel is level, but when you take a corner, all the fuel sloshes to one side. When that happens not as much fuel goes in the engine.
I could be worng, so before you start ripping apart your carb, i would have somebody comfirm this.

Re: Civic loses power taking corners.
I was kinda thinking my carb too, but it was running like a champ before I parked it so I wasn't sure. It's got new fuel in it and all the old crap is gone so it's not fuel. It's been fully devac'd for 9 months and running good, so it's not vacuum. It's in perfect time, and it's had plugs, wires, cap, and rotor just done. So I dunno kinda just leaves carb...

Float level. There should be a sight glass on the side of the carb with a dot in the middle of it. The fuel level should line up with that dot.
