It's true! I hadn't thought of that. However, my rally experience with our roadster would argue against trying anything competitive. I took it in just one national event when it was almost a new car. In those days I drove better than today but the lack of power and torque were an insurmountable barrier to a good finish. Even today the car is unsuitable for a North American touring rally because it has to work so hard to keep highway speeds.
About 35 years ago I drove a Mazda RX2 in something like the event in SSS's video link and it was almost the most fun I've had in a car. It was run on a long sand oval used for training race horses. We made quite a mess of the surface but the opportunity for drifting was great!

Ha! Jinja in this case being my local shrine, but I like the idea of getting dirty as well. Furniture shopping isn't high on my list of weekend pursuits, so when I agreed to stop and look at some Meiji-era side tables, I figured I could get out of there fast, as no way the Coupe could accommodate furniture and the load of Sunday shopping already on board. Wrong. Even the shop assistant was impressed...
'We could have bought the bigger one', was the statement as we drove off. Neko.

Great to see everyday use! Our roadster is mostly used for errands too, though not as often as it should be I imagine side tables made before the Meiji period would be rare? Is this a valuable antique in Japan, or just used furniture?

And keeping on topic, none of which would have likely fitted in the Coupe. Neko.

Outside the big cities it's a pretty countryside with lots to see. I've never driven there though, let alone in a nice sports car. My rule of thumb for car rental is that I have to be able to read "Bridge Washed Out" in whatever the native language is
