Default {urchasing mounts for B series 87 Crx

Ive goten bored of fixing my heavy del sol, so Its getting parked and weekend driven so it will break less. SO I picked up an 87 Crx si in perfect shape for mega cheap. It currently has a busted dizzy (literally detonated inside) so im planning on fixing that this weekend. this is beside the point.

Im wanting to swap in a 94' Gsr motor I picked up for realy cheap (free for doing a swap for my friend) into this as it has a super light body currently. (back glass is plastic, and fenders and hood are fiberglass already) Im not wanting to weld anything since I dont have the time to put a car on a lift and have it all done. so I wanna buy the Hasport mount kit. question I have is. What else am I looking at fabrication wise? I already have plans of OBD1 conversion since the motor I have is OBD1 anyhow, and I already have a p06 ecu chiped and converted to vtec. whats involved wiring wise? is the 87 crx si the same wiring as white plug 88 crx's? and do I have to buy the EKRB rear engine bracket in addition to the AFB1 Mount kit? Im realy not that commonly on HT, but Have searched the heck outta this topic to find only the guy that had his custom welded and took a year. Im hoping to have this done in 2 weekends.

You shouldn't have to do any fabrication at all.

Hasport sells a mount kit for it...so all the guesswork is taken out.

Buy mount kit. Install engine. Have quick CRX. Enjoy life.

Check out redpeperracing.com for more info specifically related to these cars.

the only mods to get the engine in is a very large dent to clear the alternator. hasport has detailed instructions on the entire swap. they also can make a wire harness if u need one.

If you plan to stick with the GSR intake, you'll need to modify the firewall to fit. The alternative is to go to one of the smaller aftermarket intakes. A third alternative is to find a VTEC B16 head and intake and use that on the GSR block. I've got a JDM B16 that I'm currently pulling out of a swapped integra to do exactly that to my 94 GSR engine. The whole thing will go into my 87 CRX racecar.

I'm also looking to avoid paying the $1k that Hasport wants for mounts and axles and will likely be doing some welding to use mounts I've got hanging around. I'll give axle building a try as well.

Thanks for the input guys, already changed my mind on the B series after I saw that the 87 integra d16A1 zc motor fits right it. and since i already have a built turbo zc, might as well just save me some money and throw it in. My project H22 is almost ready to be bolted back together anyhow so Il have no use for my ZC motor anyhow. Imma just throw the gsr into my DA and call it complete. (even though its such a waste into an integra) Thanks though and Imma still gonna consider the B swap in my crx if I end up blowing up this ZC.
