To be honest I don't know why I titled it as that. Probably just click bait lol. I've never been one to chase after numbers or have big power goals. Now that this car is pretty dialed in in excited to start on my NA D series build for my Honda Insight lol, should make about 140whp on a good day and get 50+mpg.

Is your mini ram manifold causing any of your boost control issues? My mini ram was a bitch when it came to controlling boost, always had creep until I gave up and mounted my wg straight to the hot side of the turbo lol. Curious how much ignition you ended up with at 19 psi too? The cars badass man!

I don't think it's the mini ram honestly. It's always held boost great, I think it was a mix of the electronic boost control solenoid just needing dialed in better and possible leaks for the boost signal lines to the wastegate. I had one blow off on the dyno causing the car to hit boost cut but I changed out the zip tie for a worm style hose clamp. As for timing I have right around 13-14 degrees in the high cam map in upper rpms. I pulled some timing on the dyno and it didn't make much difference so I left it pulled.

Re: K7-1Ktrevor's AWD CRX build, 500whp or bust
Pretty sure I hurt the bottom end. Cylinder's 2 and 3 are 55-60 psi on comp test and 1-4 are 145-155 respectively. Not sure if it's sleeve related or the Nippon cast pistons. I'm looking for a css ls or gsr block now or a sleeved b series anything other then b16. If anyone has any leads I'd be happy to see what's out there. Funny thing is the motor still runs on all 4 and seems to pull well just smokes a bit in full throttle. Might still take it to ifo this year and break it there lol.
edit* my compression tester was reading funny so I tried my other one I had.
comp numbers dry are
1: 150, 2: 110, 3: 125, 4: 165
comp numbers with a little oil in each cylinder are
1: 160, 2: 125, 3: 180, 4: 200

I’ve got a B18C1 out of a ‘95 GSR that burnt a valve. It’s stock with just over 120k on the engine, but it may or may not be what you’re looking for.

It's all good just part of the game. I think I pushed the limits on the stock sleeves and the cast pistons were probably at their limit too. I wanna do a sleeved bottom end with forged pistons. I'm really happy with how the car makes power, how the awd system works and just the car in general. A new bottom end will be a little bit of a set back but that's what building cars is all about. Build it break it and rebuild it better. I just took the car out for a spin after the comp test, I checked valve lash and made a few adjustments and honestly it hauls *** still, just smokes a little. I'm definitely gonna run it at ifo, hurt or not.
As for the gsr, it would probably cost too much to ship it unless your in the pnw then I maybe interested.

Hey, that's the right attitude to have if you're going to play this game. All I do is brake my car and rebuild it. Seems like I spend more time rebuilding it than actually driving it. The faster I make it, the more I brake it. Just keep at it, you've built a great foundation. BTW, your thread made it to the home page here on H-T.

Yeah man. It's just part of the hobby. I will do a sleeved block with forged pistons and I'd really like to have the block o-ringed also. I'm waiting on something somewhat big to be finished then after that's over I'll be able to put a little money into the car and make it how I'd like it. And that's bad *** that they put my crx up. That's soo cool, I've always seen cars get featured but never my own. Thanks for letting me know about that. Here's the link for anyone interested.

Ran the crx at ifo just in the test and tune lanes. First pass was 12.0 at 126mph. I bogged pretty hard on the launch because I didn't use launch control and underestimated how well it would hook. I aired the tires down to 25psi, found out that when I ran my 11.9's I had 45 psi in the all seasons. My other two passes I missed second and third and ran a 12.2 and then missed third hard and ran a 12.6 lol. Still had fun. It was nice to be out for an event and help out allot of my customers I've tuned this year. One was a Hyundai Accent with a turbo Hyundai tiburon motor. He ran a 12.0 at 119mph without launch control and no working tach lol. Tuned on megasquirt.

Re: K7-1Ktrevor's AWD CRX build, 500whp or bust
Been a while since I posted in here but I have decided to go a different direction with the car. Decided to finally tear the motor down and found all the sleeve cracked, what a surprise. Pistons look like they are in good shape so I may save them for another b20 block to throw in or just sell them. Looks like the block filler didn’t do **** lol.

I don’t think so, I don’t think it helped really either. Seemed like with the block filler in there the car would always wanna climb temp. I wished I would have went with a 81.5mm ls or gsr block to start and sent it to css but it’s all good. I got to have my fun with the car now it’s time to move onto bigger and better things.

Damn man, this sucks. From the ashes, the phoenix is reborn, however. Make her stronger than before!!

Axles were normal b series, da knuckles with crv calipers and Mini Cooper rotors. The passenger side axle had to have part of the face ground down for the splines to slide in enough for the c clips to lock them in.

Re: K7-1Ktrevor's AWD CRX build, 500whp or bust
Got the chance to tune my old crx yesterday. Its been through a few hands of people who treated the car with no respect but the current owner seems like he’s gonna give it some love and hopefully make it a nice car again. The clutch that was in the car didn’t hold anything more then about 11lbs so I’ll try to update it next time I retune it with some videos and what not.
