Pioneer Radio Problems.

Pioneer Radio Problems.
I just recently bought a radio and I installed it correctly doesn't turn on at all. I connect it directly to the battery and the radio turns on. Any suggestions on what I can do, or should do? I sure as hell am not paying anyone 30 bucks to install some radio.

First test your ignition and straight 12v power wire to the cd player with a multimeter, if you got voltage with the key on, connect the red and yellow wires together i had to do it in mine, only perk is you have to manually turn the cd player off when you turn the car off

Or instead of hooking those two wires together, you could check to see what the issue is
If theres no constant power on the aftermarket yellow wire, check the 7.5 amp RADIO/BACKUP fuse in the underhood fuse box is blown. This provides backup (constant) power to both the ECU and the radio.
If the red switched wire doesnt have power with the key on, check the fuse in the interior fuse box
If the fuse for the non-functioing wire is fine (and everything else running.off the fuse seems to be working) , run your own constant wire or switched power (fusing.it of course) instead of doing a rigged install like that... which people who own the car next bring to people like me to fix because the previous owner took a "short cut"

Re: Pioneer Radio Problems.
Anyway, as mentioned, you are not getting a 12V switched or a 12V constant at the OEM radio harness.
The most common one to go is, as mentioned, the 12V constant, normally a 7.5A marked BACK-UP in engine bay fuse box, DO NOT replace with bigger fuse, if the 7.5A in not big enough for the HU, [common problem with aftermarket "high power" HUs, instead run a fused 12ga power lead directly from the batt., [just like you would for an amplifier] to behind the HU and connect the HUs 12V constant to it, don't forget to cap off the unused OEM 12V constant so it can not short out, [replace fuse if blown] it is also ECU/ECM memory. 94
