Viper alarm 2-way remote batt died, now only 1-way, can't use car, help!
Well, as the title says... my 2-way remote's battery died on me, but when I charged it back up, it would not disarm the car. (Thank God I was home when this happened) So I figured the remote just needed paired to the car, but then when brushing the snow off my sisters car so I could get where I needed to be, I leaned the broom I was using on my car and the shock sensor chirped and it showed up on my remote. Hmm.
Now I realize that you are supposed to be able to disarm the system by putting the key into the ignition and pressing the valet button x number of times, but that is not working for me. Unfortunately I don't have the other remote (a 2 hour drive away), so I don't know how to disarm the system without pulling the plug (which would take a half hour of listening to an alarm to get to. Any suggestions?
It's a Viper 5901, car is a 99 Civic LX Sedan

The only to reprogram the remote will be to disarm the system. So your going to have to disarm thru the valet button or by using the other remote.
Open the door and turn the ignition one. Quickly press the valet button on the anttena one time. It should stop going off in about 2 seconds. Now you can reprogram the alarm remote.

****, yeah that's what I tried. I'm pretty sure it did not work because I did not wire-in the ignition with the viper alarm. Is there no other way than the other remote?

Nope, you need to get the other remote or hook the ignition wire correctly to disarm the car.
