I just purchased a 2000 gsr that's running a p73 ITR ecu. The previous owner of the car tried to switch to a p72, but the car would not start, due to the immobilizer I assume?
I have to change this ecu to the proper one, as the p73 is causing the car to run very rich and it's getting pathetic gas mileage. Is there any proper, legal, upstanding way to get this done? Short of buying a new p72 and key(s) from honda?

In for an answer as well. Looking to run a B20z on an obd2b P75 ecu in a 2000 civic.

Also somewhat interested in retrofitting the ring to the column if possible, or if that is a viable solution.

QUOTE=wrx-killer-Sti-eater;19215135]my 00 gsr is the same way. I did my ecu and did not have a problem. I have one more way if you are nervious about a cel. pm me and I will tell you. I not going to post this on a public form. fcm and nsx hit me up and I will tell you to. you guys seem real trust worthy . This way you keep the ecu the same and dont have to change anything.[/QUOTE

hi I have a 2000 Honda Accord EX 2.3 type a motor. My boyfriend, our neighbor, an myself decided to change the head ourselves. We have to smog the car cause the registration has expired but we blew the head by running it out of oil. There's a plug at the bottom of the motor that blew and dumped it. Long story short... we had it running just fine but this one code kept coming on. We switched out the Ecu for one at the local pick a part junk yard. We saw a you tube post where we are just supposed to unsolder the two chips off of the ecu board and resolver them in place of the other boards chips for the immobilizer. I am pretty good with swapping them out but if I mess this up how can I just disable the immobilizer? Can I get another ecu and make that one work? I don't have the cash to spend on this issue which is why I'm doing this.
