Stereo in dome light out?????

So I just finished putting an Alpine Cd player in my 98 Civic ex and everything works properly except for the dome light. The light will turn on when i switch it to on but it wont turn on when i open the door and the switch is turned to the door spot (whatever that's called.) Does anybody know what could be wrong with it? thanks

You removed your stock radio in a '96-'98 Civic, which makes the dome light stop working with the door and also makes keyless (if equipped) stop working.

The keyless is tied into a unit that's part of the radio on these cars.

For the dome light there's supposed to be a way to wire it so it will work.

If all your worried about is the dome light, [no key-less or have an aftermarket key-less like alarm or remote start] then you can get a jumper plug... http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID.../productID/597 or just jump/connect together the light green/red and the light green black in the key-less harness, [other plug plugged into stock radio].

If you no longer have key-less entry, you either have to add an aftermarket one or you need to keep the stock radio in the car, there is also a harness for that... http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID.../productID/301

An aftermarket alarm is the way to go. 94
