I have found that doing it this way has resulted in better sounding sub bass in cars then the recomended port length, and the length has varied by as much as 2" or 3" in some cars with some boxs, [smaller cars biggest diff.] Don't forget for best sound, [no port noise] the outside of port, [the part you see on the face of the box] should be "flared", [use a 5/8" to 3/4" halfround router bit] and each time you cut the port shorter, [at the back] take off the sharp inside edge, and before you glue in the port, "roll" the inside edge, nice and smooth. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif94 |

so basically build a box about 3,3 cubic feet sealed and then grab a tube and go from there? good idea
what do i look for while changing the length of the tube |

Re: ported sub box dimensions (Optiks.)
to calculate a wedge type box, simply subtract the lower width section of the box & add it into the upper width section of the box to have a equal width. for example, if your lower section is 12" the upper section must be 8" so if you calculate it subtract 2" on the lower section & put it on the upper section & you will get an equal width of 10", got it? Btw, ist it 15 inch sub?

Re: (fcm)
it was a deffective sub, i hooked up a SVC kicker sub and its working flawlessly
