I work at a local shop in WPB,FL and i decided i would start my car...
i have decided to put 2 6.5in components in each door.

befor-


then i started to make a plate for the 2x6.5 in speakers.. they are going to be back mounted.. the plate in out of .5in MDF.. i cut the door panel to fit the plate and CA Glued it in place... so i can Cabosil the panel to give it the shape i want




i then added more intill i got the panel to the shape wanted.. after it was the shape i wanted i used bondo to smooth everything..




i have some more bodywork to do to this panel... but i am going to be wraping it in a material just like the factory just w/o the foam

i went with the 2x6.5 bc i need it to keep up with the bass when i am done... this is not a sq car at all... i am going to use infinity components for now but mmats might be giving me some more equipment for this so who knows. i really dont like the infinity but they are loud.

i already have..

2x MMATS P3.0
1-MMATS 1400.1
1-MMATS sq4100... thanks to dave it is 200x4 at 4ohm!!! that is RMS!!

if u really need mids to keep up with huge spl bass, you're gonna need pa drivers

yes but if i use something that will keep up it will sound like **** in car when i don't have the bass all the way up...

the material was for a headliner and looked like suede. it was kinda nice..

as i said it is suede but it has a foam backing... i got it from A & B top and textiles in Riviera beach, Fl but i don't think you could buy from them

what material was the final wrap done with? its amazing with all the curvature on the panel.

the vinyl is called allsport black... it is used for Motorcycle seats, snowmobile seats, personal watercrafts, ski lift chairs, golf car seats and what is really cool is it is 4way stretch so i can pull it anyway i want to when i am wrapping it..

well i did the hard part 2day on the wiring.. i took the doors off the car and ran 4x18awg speaker wire and 1 cat 5 in each door.. i am going to be mounting the x-overs under the seats.. i don't know if anyone of you have done this but i must say it really sucks!!

i am going to try to finish the wiring so i can put the doors on 2maro after work(most likely sunday).. and i have to fix my alarm i pulled out the unlock somewhere when i was running the wires..

i finally got the doors on the car... i am extremely happy.. but my new amp is not here yet so my jl e4300 is only about 45 watts x4 ... sunday i am going to finish installing the x-overs and put in the new center console.
