MobileIQ vs. Escort Entourage CIS
I want to add a GPS unit as another layer of security. I've narrowed down my search to the aforementioned units.
I like the web based GUI for Entourage and no-user interaction arm/disarm RFID fob, but I'm not thrilled with the alarm trigger. Unless the vibration sensor is set off, the next alert will not happen until the vehicle is taken outside of its "safety zone", meaning my vehicle would already be on the move before I contact the police. Unlike the MobileIQ, I can tie it into the alarm and have the extra 30-60 seconds to notify the police of the attempted break-in.
I've read all the praise about the MobileIQ on this forum (Mostly from wrx-killer-Sti-eater, but that's not to say I doubt his opinion), but I cannot gather any other information on it other than its poor description on the AirIQ website. I'd like to know how the GPS tracking works - Is there a web GUI to check on the location of the vehicle? What are (if any) the monthly costs? The installation PDF diagrams a lead to the backup battery. Is that part of the package or an optional extra?
BTW, wrx-killer-Sti-eater if you're reading this, the website link in your sig doesn't work.
