Keyless FOB fix?

Keyless FOB fix?
I have a 1999 CRV which came with a Keyless fob but it doesn't open any doors, the LED on the fob only blinks once on/off when you hold down a button continuously. Is that normal I would have thought the LED should stay lit as long as you hold down a button?
The tailgate button also only works if you press it really hard. From my experience these keyless fobs are really tough, the case may get worn out but apart from the battery needing replacement they very rarely die. I have replaced the battery on this fob and sprayed the switches with switch cleaner. I also tried re-pairing the fob with the vehicle.
Is there anything I can check or try fix to resurrect my fob, do they maybe get dry solder joints?
My fob looks like the pic below but without the panic button:

Re: Keyless FOB fix?
I can't be the only guy that's ever had a dead keyless fob??
At this point I'd really like to know if the LED on the fob only blinking once on/off when you hold down a button continuously is a sign of a dodgy fob or if that's the way it is?
