installing amplifier
 

Is it worth trying to install an amplifier by myself?

If it is can someone post pics of an amplifier installation on a 96-98 civic coupe.

I need to know where to connect ground to? where did the RCA cables were set up?

Well, if you've NEVER done anything tinker-ish before, maybe not. Installing an amp is not hard. I'm going to be installing one in my 97 Civic 2door in the near future. I anticipate the hardest thing will be finding a pre-existing pathway through the firewall to put my power cable through.

You'll probably run the RCA cables under the carpet and screw in panels along the bottom of the doorway.

The ground goes to the body of the car. Find a screw and remove it and any paint so you get a contact. Attach a ring terminal to your ground wire and hold it in place with the screw.

Its a pain wiring up an amp..if u dont know what you're doing i suggest not, or get someone to help you, brother showed me how and now i know how to do it..but yeah the hardest part is getting the power wire through the firewall, was a pain, second is wiring it neat under the carpet is another pain in the but..can ground your wire anywhere u find metal, get the ring terminal as said and put it on the screw..

you should try it yourself. it's really not a hard thing to do. it just time and patience to do it right.

the best way is to take out the interior so you can get all the wires through under the carpet.

Go watch someone else do it. Once you have seen it just one time, it wn't be shit to do yourself.

it is cake..go and buy an install kit from a good stereo shop.. not BEST BUy. and bang out

It really isn't so hard, just do some research and take your time to do a good job. Make sure it is properly fused and double check everything is connected right before turning it on and you can't really ruin anything.

you know, usually when you buy an amp it comes with instructions and like 100 different setups. Just follow the instructions, the first time i didn't use instructions, I just went with trial and error. only blew one fuse too.

Not that hard if u research. I ran minez yesterday. and no noise, no problems!!

tips:
i have a 95 civic.

- ran RCA's up the driver side of the car(along the sides)
- ran power and remote turn on leds down passenger side(same side as battery)
- make sure u dont run the RCA's and Cable/Remote turn on, down the same side.
-Grounded amp to the rear bolt that holds the rear seat bottom in place(closest bolt to amps that i mounted on seat backs). make sure u scrape the paint off wherever ur grounding ur amp too.

I'm trying to install an amp in a 93 accord. What I want to know is, what is the best way to connect the wiring to the battery, I searched for places to go through the firewall but nothing seemed like a good option. Is there anyway to make this easier?
