Default Do I just need a capacitor to get my system running again?

Alright so when I purchased my car the system was already installed. Recently my car was vandalized which I mentioned is this thread. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1980034
So they took the capacitor and subwoofer. Needless to say I have no music in my car now. The head unit seems to work fine just not pumping out any music.

The thread below shows the description of the system from the guy I purchased the car off of from HT.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=880240

So my basic question is if I just replace the capacitor well I get sound again? I don't know if this system needed one to work. Also do I need to replace the sub woofer?, or can I just replace the capacitor and be good to go? Thanks in advance.

No, you don't need a capacitor for the system to function...

Was the 5 channel amp stolen as well??

Nah they tried but something must of happened. They started to unscrew it. If I don't need a capacitor is there any reason I'm not getting music? Does the sub need to be there for the music to function? I just don't want to drop a $100.00+ bucks for a capacitor and still not get any music. Without any music during my drive there's nothing to do but brood.

I'm going to assume that the amp was powering all speakers in the vehicle, so you're going to need to troubleshoot the amp.

No, you don't need a sub for the rest of the system to function.

Troubleshooting the amp eh? That sounds like a frighting thought to me.

If the cap is gone then you'll need to take the power wire that was on the cap and put it on your amp.

Or did I miss that part?

Well what I did was half assed with half *** results. I took the two wires that were connected to the positive terminal on the cap and twisted them together and now I am getting music but with a whizzing whining noise. I'm guessing thats because I didn't hook up what was use to be hooked up to the negative terminal to anything so the ground wire is just there. Does this sound right?

As long as the amp has a good ground the ground that was on the cap does not need to go anyplace.

The "whizzing whining noise] is probably alt. whine, and was suppressed by the cap, it means there is probably a ground loop, [a diff. in ground potential between the HU and the amp, or the RCAs are running with the amps power lead or other car wiring. 94
