how to connect the door trigger properly
As it says in the electrical layout, you need to connect the kick panel green/red wire on the alarm door trigger input
the problem is that my green/red wire send +12v while the doors are closed and the alarm required a negative input or a positive input (while doors are open) how did you guys go around this for a while i've put a relay to converse voltage input but it kills the battery if you dont use your car for a couple of days thanks for your advises |
Doesn't your alarm have a pos. trigger? What kind of alarm?
If not, yes you can use a relay to make the positive trigger into a negative... And no, it will not kill your battery... It's only activated when the door is open. |
it's a viper,
as i was saying the signal is +12v while the door are closed, the alarm will take the +12V while doors are opened so i'm wondering if i'm using the proper green / red wire |
Re: (konidude)
First did you test the wire with a dvm? I bet you didn't because that wire rest at 12volts. And when you open the door it becomes chassie ground. There are 4 wires with the same color. You need to test all the wire before just hooking them up.

you need to test the wire when the doors are closed and then with a door open. if the doorpin is (-) then it will test 12v with the doors closed and ground (or show 0v) with a door open. if its (+) then it will test 0v with the doors closed and 12v with a door open.

If it's a Honda/Acura it has neg.(-) door triggers, if you "lift" the ground, [open pin switch by closing door] on a circuit with a load, [dome light] when you meter the ground lead you read the 12V+ on the other side of the load, [light bulb filament] https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif 94 |

Re: (wrx-killer-Sti eater)
thanks guys,
but while doors are closed, is the pos 12v will hurt the alarm, since it's supposed to pick up negative?? |

No. It will not hurt anything. |
