I have a dei viper which I wanted to add a extra siren too. I was told to just cut the wire from where my exisiting siren is and connect the second siren's wire red to red and black to black with some plastic (nipples) and found a secure place to mount it. Is this correct? Thanks in advance.

Get the DEI backup battery/siren.....I just got it for $45. Much better than only a second siren.

The red is the trigger wire and the black is just ground. If you're really paranoid then run the black wire directly to the battery ground post. That way if they cut the factory ground the siren will still go off. Use loom if you can, it will protect the wires from heat, also I would suggest soldering and heat shrink all connections.

Usually running 2 sirens should be safe, but if you are running more than 2, you may want to use the siren output to trigger the other sirens off of a relay hooked directly to 12V.
