To crossover or not to crossover??

Hi guys, i'm getting ready to instal my stereo, my setup is:
-Infinity 6.5 in the front (i think they are up to 60 Watts RMS)
-Infinity 6X9 (110 Watts rms)
-Power Acoustik 85x4 RMS ( well, at least that's what they claim, not sure tough)
-Alpine CDA-9847

Now, the question is, i saw a MTX active crossover (2 channel imput and 3 channels output) and it's within my wallet reach, now, my question is, i don't think i will get a sub, but i want to know if the crossover is beneficial to my setup? or will the amp crossovers work just fine??

My goal is a stereo that can sound loud and neat, not bass oriented, just as good as it can get without the sub. Oh, car is accord 95 4 door.

Thanks guys!

Save your money. You will be fine with the onboard crossover on the amp. Just make sure your headunit has three outputs for future add on. Two would be fine but three is better.

Most onboard crossovers are -12dB per octave. Which is usually enough.
Active crossovers are the way to go for the least amount of distortion. Your crossover in your amplifier is an active crossover.

In simpilier terms I agree with ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

yeah, the stereo has 3 pair of outputs (at 2 volts)

Anyway, yeah, i tought the crossover would be better to somebody that has 2 pairs and want to add a sub the right way. But since all i know about audio is from reading on the net, i'm not quite confident when it comes hand on experience.

Thanks guys!
