Can't choose the right alarm

Heres the deal. I have narrowed it down to a few alarms but cant decide. I originally knew exactly which alarm i wanted but after talking to someone now I'm a tiny bit worried about it. heres what I'm looking for. Really good range, all the bells and whistles, and a good reliable alarm. The alarm i originally wanted to get is Compustar pro p2ssw-AS (spread spectrum) with alarm and remote start. It had the range and all the options i wanted. I heard though that it had conductivity problems, the pager couldnt be attached with keys because it disturbs the signal or something? and then of course the infamous easy compustar valet. The other alarms i have been told about are dei products which are the 5900 and the 791xv. I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone has owned the spread spectrum compustar and what their thoughts and experiences are with it. Also if people want to mention any other good alarms equal or better to these ones then feel free. I am a college student and this will be going on an integra.

excellent alarm, all pro series have valet button, pro series don't have easy override, they come with valet button that can be programmed with code or you could simply hide it...

theres no delay with pro2wssr as you would read about 2wssr, it responds right a way. module is cm400 which is same on pro2w900fm, only difference is antenna and remote. canadian version claims to have longer range (vs US pro2w900fm) as its 433mhz plus it comes with auto mode to unlock/lock doors automatically within set distance of the car.

for range, definately get top of the line pro2wssr (the most range you can get), otherwise, pro2w900fm will still do the job. antenna is smaller on pro2wssr so its easier to hide.. but, remote is much larger and will take up more space..

both pro2wssr and pro2w900fm can be used for auto and manual with remote start, reservation mode makes it quite safe as you have to exit the car while its running then it shuts off.

placement of buttons makes it harder to be pressed by accident while in your pocket.. of course both have button lock to prevent any wrong pressing period.

Re: Can't choose the right alarm (fastcrvi)

thanks. The Unit i decided to go with after talking with fcm is the 9000. The SS is know for slight conductivity problems sometimes which is a short delay and the battery life is weak. Its also 100 dollars more for me.

heres a link to what I'm getting:

pro2wssr does not have delay.. battery life isn't that bad either.. only downside is the size of remote, the only difference between pro2wssr and pro2w900fm is remote and antenna which you could later replace at high cost.. don't confuse pro2wssr with 2wssr, there are no delays and it responds very fast with longest range.

i was looking at the pro SS i researched it and talked to experienced people about it. They've told me to go with the pro 9000 so thats the route im taking.

I've had lots of bad luck with my compustar.

1st thing. the ring broke off the keychain after 6 months of daily use. The remote costs $100 bucks to replace.
2nd. - delay problems like others stated
3rd - bad customer support from manufacturer.

I would not buy that brand again. - you might like it more than i will since you already bought it.

I'd go with AUTO-Page. So far, 2 years and still no problems. and it didnt break off my keychain.
