Box modeling help
I have an illusion audio ND-10 I would like someone to model this speaker for the smallest enclosure possible for both sealed and ported enclosures. I dont have any modeling software so I would appreciate the help.
The only spec I could find can be found here http://www.illusionaudio.com/docs/carbon_subs.htm |

Re: Box modeling help (fcm)
I've played around with one of these subs quite a bit, and I wouldnt really recommend a ported box. I can't remember exactly, but I think I fooled around with it in a box as small as .7 cubes without too much of a problem with the low end. Hopefully you have a hatchback though or plan to put the sub in the cabin of the car, because the nd10 doesn't exactly get very loud, especially if you are only gonna be using 1. I had one in the center console of an suv for a while and output wasn't bad, but the sub was also about 6 inches from my seat. If you really do insist on going ported for the extra low end output, try 1.6 cubic feet tuned to around 30-33HZ

LOL I have an NSX so being close to the listener isn't a problem........those would be my vehicles in the photo. The sub fits under the floormat on the passenger side so I dont have much room. The speaker sounds like crap right now supposedly this is supposed to be an excellent SQ sub. It makes a good mid at best. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif
The 4" bose sounds a lot better. I have had this speaker for about two years. I have yet to put it in part because I don't have the time and partly because the bose sounds better. |
Re: (nsxxtreme)
Under the floormat?!?
Anyway, if you just need someone to draw this up in Autocad and save a .jpg with dimensions and/or a rendered pic, I can do that. IM me or something. I can't design it though, I can only draw it with dimensions given to me. |

The current enclosure iI made is made out of fiberglass. Since I dont have much room wood would be to difficult to use, but thanks for the offer. I was kinda hoping to find someone that has experience with this speaker to assure me that it's worth the effort to keep working on it. Also recommend a box volume ported or sealed. I don't care which as long as it sounds good. |
